In the year 2014, a mysterious masked vigilante by the name “Azrael” came into the world's attention. This self-proclaimed vigilante “protected” the City of Salinas, California for around the span of two years. The DIA categorized Azrael as the first metahuman to come to the public eye, only now we know that we were incorrect. Intense research and accounts throughout human history, we know that metahumans have lived among us for quite some time, eight centuries to be exact. Through historical record, we’ve traced the first metahuman to be Bloodshot a nobleman from medieval times. Many millions have also been identified, but after centuries of flourishing numbers, this surge in metahumans ended abruptly at the turn of the 20th century. Azrael became our primary focus (although we knew nothing of his identity or his origin at the time) that is until 2016. In 2016 a believed omega level metahuman rose to the world attention in August of that year. Known as Polaris, it was later found out he was actually an alien from a now destroyed planet in the Andromeda Galaxy. With him he brought a reign of destruction on the human race, changing the world forever. With this discovery that we were not alone in the universe came the reality of gods and monsters both thought to be myth became a reality in the waning years. Polaris seemed to be a beacon for new metahumans that began to appear in vast numbers, and his death seemed to attract more evil entities into the world.
